Missed my wife

After returning from KC and finding out my house was sold, I decided to hop a flight to Minneapolis to be with my wife for a week before returning to close on my place. I went out to many local parks with my cheaper unit......Minelab X-30, since it was up there already and I did not want to pay another $25 to haul up the MX-300. I need to learn the area more cuz I dont have a clue as to the sites and know absolutely nobody up here, but there are many rivers and lakes in Eagan (Where I will live) and it has great potential. I did dig up $25.90 in 4 hot days of digging which brings my year to date total to $199.26. Unfortunately, I got a call from my broker telling me the financing fell thru and I returned to Waukesha to start over. I dropped the agent and am doing this myself, so far.......no good. Damn, I miss my wife!HH~ANDY~

Very busy month

Spent a week in Kansas City visiting an old friend and brought my detector. Besides drinking to much beer and eating to many rib joints out of food, I was able to do a half dozen schools and a dozen parks while I was there. I was surprised to see nothing but newer coins. I found a grand total of $32.26 which did not even pay for 2 meals, but it sure was fun! Mitch was a lucky ducky and found 3 rings......1 gold and 2 silver.

God is watching over the unemployed

Sold house and closing is set for July 17....yay, moving to Mn. Old friend called and claimed he owns house with 3 acres that used to be part of fairgrounds from 1890-1930, his grandparents built his house during depression in 1932 and was passed to parents and now him. I spent 3 days with him going over this area 3 times. We decided to share all and that was a godsend as he found a 1903-o Morgan dollar that fetched us $210. We also found an 1899-s morgan and a 1922-d peace dollar, 3 halves-1895-s barber, 1919-d and 1923-s walking libs. 4 lib. quarters-1924, 1928-s, and 2 1929. 9 merc dimes (no key dates), 2 roosevelts, 9 indian head pennies with 1909 being best valued at $9, 12 wheaties with 1915-s being best at $12, 3 buffalo nickels with no key dates and a jeff nick from 1949. All told we found $7.o1 in silver and old pennies, $18.o7 in newer clad, and 2 silver rings. Many fair trinkets and other things I gave to him to display. My half of haul amounted to $12.54 and 1 ring. YTD=$141.10~HH ANDY~

I have not been on in a month as I had to move my wife to Minneapolis for a job transfer. Very hectic and frustrating as I am still in Milwaukee trying to sell my house. I did spend a week metal detecting my way home along the bluffs of mississippi in Mn., Iowa, and Wis. sleeping in my car. I cannot give exact totals as I was using monies for gas and food, but a conservative estimate is $75 as I had 2 days that exceded $20 and 2 days that exceded $13. I do have 6 rings of which 1 is gold with multiple diamonds, 3 silver, and 2 junk. I also found a gold bracelot and $2.70 in silver (nothing real special-7 50's-60's quarters, 8 rosies and 3 war nickels). The views were awesome and I met some other detectorists that I plan to spend time with again. Now to cash in the gold and get this house sold!

Spring has sprung again!

After a week of cold rains, I finally got out for a couple hours today and wow the ground is so easy to open up. The sports complex was kind to me too, as I pulled 30 quarters, 4 dimes, 1 nickel, and 6 pennies for a grand total of $8.01 YTD TOTAL-$53.56 Oh ya, and a large mens 18 carat gold ring that will fetch a pretty penny!HH~ANDY~

50 mile an hour gust stops me short!

Went down to the complex again today but only lasted for a half hour cuz of wind. A gust came up and brought a huge mass of an infield dirt swirl my way and most ended up in my eyes....OUCH, enough. $1.01 with 4 quarters and a penny. YTD $45.55HH~ANDY~

Working hard to find job, better luck with coins tho!

I have not been getting out as much this year due to extensive job searching, so far no good! Yesterday I spent 3 hours at baseball park with alot of beeps so I just focused on quarters and I ended up with 20 extra coins due to coin spills. $7.05 with 23 quarters, 10 dimes, 5 nickels, and 5 pennies. I am going to do this more often as it produced alot more $ than I usually get, and this complex is huge so I can do it again and again! Today I got out for 2 hours at same complex and got another $3.37 with 11 quarters, 5 dimes, 1 nickel and 7 pennies which brings my YTD to a total of $44.54......Special note (After digging a quarter in a hole, I got a dime read and dug that and also a penny all around 2" deep. I scanned again and got a faint read of quarter at 7" and dug deeper and found a 1936-s quarter and a 1935-s buffalo nickel almost stuck together! Weird as this sounds....it has happened to me alot over the years, so always check and recheck and listen real hard to your headset, if you don't have a good headset......get 1 cuz it is the only way to hear some of these faint beeps!HH~ANDY~
