Love detecting...Hate selling home...miss wife
After another depressing loss of home sale, I needed to explore old area and went to oldest park in Waukesha. Bethesda park is a landmark that has been hit more times than I can count and I have had some luck here over the years, but it is getting very hard to find anything here. I spent 2 hours here today and got 1 very nice surprise. I found 5 coins here and only 1 was special. In the 1st hour and a half I found 2 quarters and 1 dime near the park, then I went down near the river and found a 1972 penny....I checked hole again and got a very light blip that showed quarter at 8". After excavating an incredible size hole I finally reached my reward........a 1932 quarter OMG...but no mint mark....DAMN. Could have been worth $1,000 if it was an "S" or a D would have been nice too. Oh well, still worth $8. 86 cents total and YTD stands at $219.36.HH~Andy~

SOLD.......AGAIN....UM, ya, we will see!
Sold my place again today and they assured me that they were pre-approved! Um ya, OK. I guess time will tell. Sort of celebrated by going to complex again, as I have depleted old sites to explore. Rain is coming again so I hit it hard today and was rewarded with a $3.20 an hour reward. I found $12.80 in just over 4 hours. 1 half dollar,36 quarters,29 dimes,6 nickels, and ten pennies. I never dug a coin reading penny or nickel, they were bonuses with my quarter and dime reads. We waste way too much time on those pennies and possible nickels, and I like to make this sport productive. If it shows deep, I dig.....but everything is shallow here and plentiful. I am sure I passed up good stuff, but I will be back. Did find one Wheatie(1947-s) after digging 2 quarters, but this is rare here so I go for Quantity over quality here until the coins run down......YTD-$218.50 (Best year since 2003-$408.20) and I want to get to Minnesota and destroy this record!HH~ANDY!

Ten inches of rain in 3 days?????WOW
After the severe weather of last Wednesday-Friday we are starting to dry out in some places. Decided to hit the sports complex today and it was very easy to dig except for the muddy ground which made my gloved hand a heavy mess. I found $6.44 in 2 hours. I had a nice spill in one hole that accounted for $1.92....very strange..6 quarters,3 dimes, 2 nickels, and 2 pennies. I felt like I hit the jackpot. All told- 19 quarters, 14 dimes, 4 nickels, and 9 pennies. (All newer clad) YTD total-$205.70...HH~ANDY~

Missed my wife
After returning from KC and finding out my house was sold, I decided to hop a flight to Minneapolis to be with my wife for a week before returning to close on my place. I went out to many local parks with my cheaper unit......Minelab X-30, since it was up there already and I did not want to pay another $25 to haul up the MX-300. I need to learn the area more cuz I dont have a clue as to the sites and know absolutely nobody up here, but there are many rivers and lakes in Eagan (Where I will live) and it has great potential. I did dig up $25.90 in 4 hot days of digging which brings my year to date total to $199.26. Unfortunately, I got a call from my broker telling me the financing fell thru and I returned to Waukesha to start over. I dropped the agent and am doing this myself, so far.......no good. Damn, I miss my wife!HH~ANDY~
Very busy month
Spent a week in Kansas City visiting an old friend and brought my detector. Besides drinking to much beer and eating to many rib joints out of food, I was able to do a half dozen schools and a dozen parks while I was there. I was surprised to see nothing but newer coins. I found a grand total of $32.26 which did not even pay for 2 meals, but it sure was fun! Mitch was a lucky ducky and found 3 rings......1 gold and 2 silver.

God is watching over the unemployed
Sold house and closing is set for July 17....yay, moving to Mn. Old friend called and claimed he owns house with 3 acres that used to be part of fairgrounds from 1890-1930, his grandparents built his house during depression in 1932 and was passed to parents and now him. I spent 3 days with him going over this area 3 times. We decided to share all and that was a godsend as he found a 1903-o Morgan dollar that fetched us $210. We also found an 1899-s morgan and a 1922-d peace dollar, 3 halves-1895-s barber, 1919-d and 1923-s walking libs. 4 lib. quarters-1924, 1928-s, and 2 1929. 9 merc dimes (no key dates), 2 roosevelts, 9 indian head pennies with 1909 being best valued at $9, 12 wheaties with 1915-s being best at $12, 3 buffalo nickels with no key dates and a jeff nick from 1949. All told we found $7.o1 in silver and old pennies, $18.o7 in newer clad, and 2 silver rings. Many fair trinkets and other things I gave to him to display. My half of haul amounted to $12.54 and 1 ring. YTD=$141.10~HH ANDY~

I have not been on in a month as I had to move my wife to Minneapolis for a job transfer. Very hectic and frustrating as I am still in Milwaukee trying to sell my house. I did spend a week metal detecting my way home along the bluffs of mississippi in Mn., Iowa, and Wis. sleeping in my car. I cannot give exact totals as I was using monies for gas and food, but a conservative estimate is $75 as I had 2 days that exceded $20 and 2 days that exceded $13. I do have 6 rings of which 1 is gold with multiple diamonds, 3 silver, and 2 junk. I also found a gold bracelot and $2.70 in silver (nothing real special-7 50's-60's quarters, 8 rosies and 3 war nickels). The views were awesome and I met some other detectorists that I plan to spend time with again. Now to cash in the gold and get this house sold!
